Ian Dowd

Ian Dowd completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Toronto after earning an Honours Bachelor of Public Relations from the University of Ottawa in 2022. Ian has developed a strong interest in mining, startup law, private equity and investment funds, mergers and acquisitions and energy law. His academic interests are reflected in his studies, with Business Organizations, Life-cycle of a Startup and Securities Regulation among his favourite law school courses.

In addition to his studies, Ian has been involved in several academic and professional initiatives, including serving as an Advisor for The Hatchery (the University of Toronto's Start up hub) and a mentorship affiliate with the Runnymede Society. He has also participated in the Space Law Research Group at the Future of Law Lab. Prior to law school, Ian gained experience as a public relations consultant for the Canadian Council of Aviation and Aerospace and a legal researcher with Blue J Legal.
