In Luigi Benetton's article, "Mind Those Annoying Patent Trolls," Michael Whitt discusses non-practising entities (NPEs), otherwise known as patent trolls. Michael comments, "An NPE's business model is completely different from that of an operating entity... An NPE wants money in exchange for not suing you. They don't have any interest in taking business away.”
