![]() In The News Eddie Goldenberg on Canada-China Prisoner SwapJanuary 24, 2020 Eddie Goldenberg spoke with The World for a radio interview on how Canada can free the two unjustly imprisoned Canadians Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig—exchange them for Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou in a prisoner swap. Eddie says, "The first priority of any government must be the liberty of its citizens." The World looked at how Canada detained Ms. Meng at the request of U.S. authorities, and Eddie says, "I think it's put Canada between a rock and a hard place, and to use an expression that I think is well-known in the United States, instead of saying 'America first" I would say 'Canada first.'" The World is a co-production of the BBC World Service, Public Radio International and WGBH.
