A team from the law firm Bennett Jones, led by former Bank of Canada governor David Dodge and including Serge Dupont, a former senior government official, have issued a grave warning that reinforces these concerns. Canada’s future is imperiled, they say, unless we move to investment-led growth that generates new wealth, exports, and jobs rather than continuing consumption-led growth that depends on rising debt.
