Bennett Jones Advises ATCO Pipelines on Approval of Yellowhead Pipeline Project

Effective July 17, 2026, ATCO Pipelines received approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) to construct and operate the Yellowhead Pipeline, a significant energy infrastructure project that will support Alberta’s growing industrial development and long-term energy needs.

The Yellowhead Pipeline is a proposed 230-kilometre natural gas pipeline that will connect Alberta’s existing natural gas transmission system to major industrial customers in the Edmonton region. The project represents a significant investment in Alberta’s energy infrastructure and will enhance natural gas delivery capacity to support continued economic growth across the province.

Bennett Jones was pleased to act for ATCO Pipelines in connection with its facility application to the Alberta Utilities Commission for approval to construct and operate the Yellowhead Pipeline. The Bennett Jones team was led by Shawn Munro, Tim Myers and Jayce Eadie.
