Bennett Jones a Top Employer in Alberta for Ten Years in a Row

February 21, 2020

For the tenth consecutive year, Bennett Jones has been ranked as one of Alberta’s Top Employers. This special designation recognizes the province’s employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.

Building durable workplaces that benefit all Albertans is the focus of the Top Employer awards for 2020. These workplaces include forward-thinking human resource policies that make a difference in the lives of their employees.

Here are some of the reasons why Bennett Jones was selected once again for 2020:

  • Along with helping employees save for the future, Bennett Jones offers a year-end bonus program to let everyone share in the firm's success, as well as referral bonuses for individuals who help to recruit friends (up to $1,500 per successful candidate).
  • Bennett Jones organizes a variety of social events to help keep employees connected throughout the year, including quarterly happy hours, a ski weekend for lawyers, staff appreciation week in April, a Stampede party and Christmas celebrations for employees and their children.
  • Bennett Jones supports employees who are new parents with maternity and parental leave top-up payments, varying by employee group, and offers a variety of flexible working arrangements to help new parents balance work and their family commitments.

Alberta's Top Employers are evaluated based on the same criteria as Canada's Top 100 Employers national competition—physical workplace; work atmosphere & social; health, financial & family benefits; vacation & time off; employee communications; performance management; training & skills development; and community involvement.
