Karen Keck advises both publicly traded and private corporations by offering pragmatic advice that is sensitive to clients' business objectives. She has experience in merger and acquisition transactions, domestic and international commercial transactions, public and private equity financings, corporate reorganizations, continuous disclosure compliance, proxy contests, corporate governance and general corporate matters. She also advises clients in the not-for-profit sector on structuring and governance matters.
Karen's recent work includes assisting Cenovus Energy Inc. with its cross-border $1.5 billion public offering of common shares, and assisting TriWest Capital Partners with its investment, in partnership with the senior management team, in Broda Group Inc. (formerly Broda Construction Inc.) by way of a combination of an acquisition of assets and shares.
Karen is a director on the board of MILIT-AIR Inc.
Karen has worked, as a volunteer or as an intern, with various organizations including the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in Costa Rica, Projects Abroad in South Africa, Calgary+Acumen in Calgary and Women in Progress in Ghana. In her spare time she enjoys travelling off the beaten path and be immersed in different cultures where she learns from the people she meets along the way.
