Caitlin Hurren has a general litigation law practice. Prior to joining Bennett Jones as an associate, she articled and summered with the firm.

Caitlin is a member of the Toronto Lawyers Association, the Advocates' Society, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the American Bar Association and Young Women in the Law. In law school, she volunteered with various legal organizations, including Parkdale Community Legal Services and Pro Bono Ontario.

In addition to her practice, Caitlin is also a registered notary public.

Recent Experience

Representation of the Attorney General of Ontario in successfully defending the use of the notwithstanding clause in s. 33 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in relation to amendments to the Election Finances Act that placed limits on third party advertising in the 12 month period before a fixed date provincial election.
