Joseph Blinick has a general litigation practice focused on corporate commercial disputes, securities litigation, class actions and employment matters. He has motion (including injunction), application and trial experience before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and a number of administrative and regulatory boards and tribunals.
He is a member of the Toronto Lawyers' Association, the Advocates' Society as well as the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations. He is also a registered notary public.
- Counsel to McEwen Mining Inc. in connection with its acquisition of Lexam VG Gold Inc. by way of court-approved plan of arrangement with a transaction value of approximately $70 million.
- Era Resources Inc. in connection with its going private transaction by way of a court-approved plan of arrangement under the Canada Business Corporations Act.
- Canadian counsel to Hermitage Capital Management Limited with respect to the money laundering investigation by Canadian authorities regarding proceeds of a US$230 million tax refund fraud uncovered by Sergei Magnitsky.
