Joan Bilsland

Prior to her current role, Joan was a research lawyer at the firm, with a focus on commercial, environmental and health law litigation files.

Joan works extensively with our articling and summer students, instructing them in research strategies and legal writing skills. She also contributes to the firm's artificial intelligence initiatives for adoption, review and planning.

Joan is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Legal Research & Knowledge Management Section, having previously served on the section executive. She is also an Associate American Bar Association member. She has taught research and writing courses for the Canadian Bar Association, Legal Education Society of Alberta and Toronto Association of Law Libraries.
