Danish Afroz is an associate in the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group in Toronto. He practices in the areas of commercial insolvency and corporate restructuring, in a variety of domestic and cross-border matters.
While attending law school, Danish participated in the Osgoode Business Clinic program where he provided legal services to entrepreneurs operating start-ups and small businesses. Danish also has previous work experience, in a risk management role, at a large financial institution in Toronto.
Danish has authored materials on numerous bankruptcy and restructuring topics, including on the treatment of intellectual property in bankruptcy, fraudulent preferences and conveyances under provincial legislation, preferences and transfers at undervalue under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, and landlord and tenant issues in insolvency.
