Brendan Sigalet has a general tax law practice with a focus on corporate tax and transaction structuring. He has also developed expertise on the tax aspects of energy transition deals, including renewable energy, carbon capture, and hydrogen projects, with an emphasis on assisting clients in navigating this dynamic and fast changing environment brought on by the proposal of various investment tax credits focused on developing a clean economy. Brendan has published multiple blogs and articles on these investment tax credits and other incentives relating to energy transition.

In law school, Brendan served as an editor of the Alberta Law Review and received a number of academic scholarships, including the Chief Justice S. Bruce Smith Prize for achieving highest standing in first year law at the University of Alberta. Prior to joining Bennett Jones, Brendan clerked at the Alberta Court of Appeal. Before becoming an associate at Bennett Jones, Brendan summered and articled with the firm.
