At the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators Dispute Resolution Conference, Vasilis Pappas presents, "Oil and Gas Arbitration: A Primer on Dispute Resolution Clauses for Transactional Lawyers," in a symposium jointly hosted by the Young Canadian Arbitration Practitioners and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, with co-panelists Charles Kotuby Jr. (Washington D.C.) and Matthew Weldon (New York). The presentation includes the benefits of arbitration over litigation in international oil and gas transactions, guidelines for drafting effective arbitration clauses in international oil and gas agreements, and contracting with states and state-owned entities under bilateral and multilateral investment treaties.
