In "Sugar Makers Taste Victory After Tribunal Restores Trade Barriers," Darrel Pearson comments on the decision by the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) to overturn a 2010 decision to let European sugar into Canada duty free. Darrel also comments on how the CITT's latest decision will affect Canadians: "For the Canadian industry it continues a lengthy period of protectionism of what is effectively an oligopoly, and means the cost to consumers and manufacturers will remain relatively higher than what it could have otherwise been."
