Bennett Jones is pleased to announce that Jim Schmidt has joined the firm as a litigation partner in the Edmonton office. Jim practises commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on fraud and asset recovery matters.

“Jim is a tremendous addition to Bennett Jones and our Edmonton office. He will provide great value to our clients and his work in fraud law includes recovery in the largest-ever known Ponzi scheme in British Columbia,” says Hugh MacKinnon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bennett Jones.

Jim brings 20 years of experience as a partner and leader at prominent Canadian law firms. He is a past Adjunct Professor at the UBC Faculty of Law and a past Co-Chair of the International Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association, B.C. Branch.
