Summarize

It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of our colleague, the Honourable Peter Lougheed.

Peter was an extraordinary man – a Canadian icon. To everyone at Bennett Jones, he was also a mentor and a friend. His presence in our firm enhanced and inspired us all.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeanne and his children, Stephen, Andrea, Pamela and Joseph.

His life and legacy have left an indelible impact on the social, cultural and economic fabric of Alberta and Canada.

As one of the most respected Premiers in the history of our nation and a statesman in the true sense of the word, Peter was respected the World over for his no-nonsense approach in dealing with difficult issues and for his unflagging loyalty to the Province of Alberta.

Both in public and private life, Peter was dedicated to the achievement of excellence.

Today our nation mourns the loss of a great Canadian and we mourn the loss of a remarkable colleague and friend.
