Bennett Jones Litigators to Address the Advocates' Society's 2012 International Conference

TORONTO, April 23, 2012 –Michael Eizenga, of Bennett Jones, will moderate a panel discussion at this year's International Advocates' Society Conference in Buenos Aries, Argentina regarding the multijurisdictional nature of class action suits. The panel will be made up of fellow Bennett Jones partner Jeff Leon and Leandro Castelli from the firm of Marval, O'Farrel & Mairal.

The liberalization of trade around the globe seems to have outpaced the laws that regulate it. "In a World of globalized trade, courts are looking for ways to resolve disputes that are multijurisdictional", says Eizenga. "Lawyers and judges across the Americas are dealing with this."

The Conference, which happens every two years, takes lawyers and members of the bench to International destinations such as The Netherlands, Ireland, Czech Republic, Austria, Spain and Morocco. It is an opportunity for prominent members of the bar to interact with lawyers, judges and policy makers from other jurisdictions.

"More and more our clients are needing advice from foreign lawyers" said Jeff Leon. "This Conference enables us to make the necessary connections in order to better serve our clients", he adds.

The Conference runs from April 19th to the 27th at the Four Seasons in Buenos Aires.
