Bennett Jones congratulates Toronto partner Claire Kennedy on being named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women in the Women’s Executive Network’s (WXN) Top 100 Awards for 2017.

Top 100 Award Winners affirm the power and potential of women across the country. WXN celebrates women leaders in Canada who have shown resilience, rallied others, overturned obstacles, and paved a path for the next generation.

Claire is recognized as one of Canada's leading lawyers in corporate tax and in transfer pricing. She is also a seasoned board director and a professional engineer. She is a director of the Bank of Canada and has served on the University of Toronto's Governing Council since 2012 and was appointed chair on July 1, 2017.

Claire is a member of the Dean's Advisory Committee at Rotman and has been extensively involved at U of T's Faculty of Engineering. This includes being the founder and chair of its Biz Skule™ committee.

In 2015, Claire received the Citizenship Award from the Professional Engineers of Ontario. In January 2016, Claire participated in the True Patriot Love (TPL) expedition to climb Vinson Massif, the highest peak in Antarctica, with a combined soldier and civilian team and raised record funds. TPL is a national charity that honours the sacrifices of members of the Canadian Armed Forces, veterans and their families in peace and in conflict.

Congratulations Claire on this tremendous honour!
