Bennett Jones LLP is pleased to announce that Barry Reiter has joined the firm as a senior corporate partner in the Toronto office and as chair of its new economy practice.
Barry is a sought after advisor by boards, directors and management on all aspects of corporate governance and finance. He currently serves on the boards of Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc., Avotus Corporation, the Centre for Innovation Law and Policy (Advisory Board), Motion Picture Distribution Inc., Park Avenue Investment Corporation, RBC Technology Ventures Inc. (Advisory Board), 724 Solutions Inc., SkyPower Corp and SkyPower Wind Energy Fund.
Barry is also recognized domestically and internationally for his expertise and experience in assisting new economy businesses, including the protection of intellectual property rights, representation of start-up, growth and mature companies and private equity sources, international distribution arrangements, strategic alliances, partnerships and joint ventures, licensings, financings, stock exchange listings and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to entering private practice, Barry was a professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto (1974-1982). He is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions and is the author of many books and articles on corporate governance matters.
