TORONTO, March 28, 2013 – Last Friday, Chambers' rankings once again confirmed Bennett Jones' position as one of the top law firms in Canada.

With Leonard Griffiths once again being ranked as a "Star Individual" and Gray Taylor being ranked a 'Global Band 1' lawyer, this pair from Bennett Jones LLP has helped set this law firm's environment practice group above the field.

A 'Star' ranking is given to lawyers with exceptional recommendations in their field and a Global ranking goes to those individuals whose work transcends borders. These recognitions are considered rare and reflect the lawyers' achievements.

"Len and Gray have long been seen as leaders in their field", says Stephen Bowman, Managing Partner in Bennett Jones' Toronto office. "This recognition from their peers and clients is well deserved."

With 60 lawyers ranked in 29 practice categories, Bennett Jones continues to be recognized by clients and peers for its excellence in providing legal and advisory services.

Chambers researchers base their rankings on material submitted by law firms, client interviews and a review of public filings on transactions on which the firms have worked.

The other Bennett Jones lawyers ranked in Band 1 include: Robert Booth, Oil & Gas – Regulatory; Randy Hughes, Competition, Banking; Loyola Keough, Energy – Regulatory; Pat Maguire, Oil & Gas – Transactional; Paul Mantini, Real Estate; Rick Orzy, Restructuring & Insolvency; Darrel Pearson, International Trade; John Rook, Competition and Laurie Smith, Oil & Gas – Regulatory.

With the recent addition of 13 lawyers to its mining practice it is expected to see Bennett Jones strongly represented in that category next year. This year, Chambers chose to "Spotlight" Sander Grieve for his international mining experience.
