Sarah Huot has a general civil litigation law practice with a particular focus on health law, employment law, and estate litigation.

Sarah represents physicians in civil litigation involving malpractice actions. She also assists physicians with fatality inquiries and proceedings involving privacy, hospital, and professional discipline issues.

Sarah acts for provincially and federally regulated employers and employees and advises clients on a variety of issues including severance entitlements, wrongful and constructive dismissal, human rights including the accommodation of disabled and injured employees in the workplace, disability plans, privacy law, and labour and employment issues that arise in the context of corporate mergers and acquisitions. Sarah also has experience with the drafting and interpretation of employment contracts, collective agreements, and workplace policies, and she assists clients with drafting and enforcing non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements. Sarah has defended employers against complaints made under the Canada Labour Code and to the Alberta Human Rights Commission, the Canadian Human Rights Commission, the Alberta Employment Standards Board, and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Sarah also assists individuals and families with various estate litigation issues including disputes relating to wills and family maintenance and support claims.

In addition to her practice, Sarah is a member of the executive for the Canadian Bar Association's Wills, Estates and Trusts Section (North).
