As part of Canada's COVID-19 Economic Response Plan announced on March 18, 2020, and through subsequent press releases, the Department of Finance and the Canada Revenue Agency have extended a number of federal tax filing, payment and remittance deadlines. The following extensions have been made thus far:

Individuals

Self-Employed Persons and Their Spouse or Common Law Partner

Corporations

Trusts

Partnerships

Charities

Part XIII Non-Resident Withholding Tax

Information Returns, Elections and Designations

Payroll Remittances

Income Tax Penalties and Interest

GST/HST Remittances

Excise Tax and Duties

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak rapidly evolves in Canada, the foregoing federal tax filing, payment and remittance deadlines are subject to further change by the Government of Canada. The Bennett Jones Tax group will continue to update the information if and when additional details are released. We also remain available during this period to answer questions and provide advice regarding how the Government of Canada's measures might impact your business interests, including any tax audits, disputes and litigation. In addition, please visit our COVID-19 Resource Centre for other COVID-19-related materials.
