Jason Berall’s litigation practice is focused on corporate and commercial disputes, securities litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency, and class actions. Within those fields, he has litigated cases involving shareholder oppression, directors’ and officers’ duties, fraud, contractual rights, misrepresentations, internal investigations, and more. He has acted for clients in a broad range of industries including mining, real estate, financial services, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, and technology.

Jason has experience in multiple courts in Ontario, the Supreme Court of Canada, and the Ontario Securities Commission. He has also represented clients in confidential mediation and arbitration. He has acted in cross-border disputes involving jurisdictions such as the United States, Asia, Europe, and South America.

As pro bono work, Jason volunteers his time as a supervising lawyer for the Osgoode Hall Law School’s Investor Protection Clinic and as member of the Bennett Jones team working with Innocence Canada. He is a member of the Advocates’ Society, the Toronto Lawyers’ Association, the American Bar Association, and the Ontario and Canadian Bar Associations.

Prior to starting his practice at Bennett Jones, Jason was a summer student and articling student with the firm.
