Jason Wang has a corporate and securities law practice with a focus on public and private mergers and acquisitions, public and private equity and debt financings, and capital market transactions. His experience includes acting for:

  • issuers and underwriters/agents in private and public equity and debt offerings, including cross-border financings, financial advisory services, and regulatory compliance matters;
  • public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions transactions including share and asset purchases, amalgamations, and plans of arrangement; and
  • advising clients on corporate and securities law matters, including with respect to corporate governance, continuous disclosure requirements, and other regulatory compliance issues.

Before joining Bennett Jones, Jason was an associate in the Calgary office of another national law firm.

Jason is also currently a board member of Startup Grind Calgary, an internationally focused startup organization that educates, inspires, and connects entrepreneurs across international chapters.

AltaLink, L.P., with a $225-million principal amount of 10-year, 1.509% Series 2020-1 Senior Secured Notes due September 11, 2030, by way of private placement in an agency transaction with a syndicate led by Scotia Capital Inc., RBC Dominion Securities Inc., and BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc.*
Capital Power Corporation (TSX: CPX), with a $275-million public offering of medium term notes to refinance existing indebtedness and for general corporate purposes.*
Capital Power Corporation (TSX: CPX), with a $130-million public offering of subscription receipts to finance the acquisition of a power plant.*
