Jamie Salsman maintains a general regulatory and environmental practice. He assists clients in proceedings before regulatory bodies, including the Alberta Energy Regulator, the Canada Energy Regulator, the Alberta Utilities Commission and the Environmental Appeals Board. He also advises clients on matters of regulatory compliance, including in the context of infrastructure development applications.
Jamie has experience defending clients against penalties imposed pursuant to Canadian environmental legislation. He counsels clients on matters relating to enforcement actions, environmental prosecutions and investigations associated with major operational incidents.
Clients benefit from Jamie’s practical litigation experience. Jamie has represented clients at trials, in chambers and in various dispute resolution proceedings in Alberta and British Columbia.
Jamie is a member of the Executive Committee of the Environmental Law Section (South) at the Canadian Bar Association’s Alberta Branch.
