Jamie Salsman maintains a general regulatory and environmental practice. He assists clients in matters before regulatory bodies, including the Alberta Energy Regulator, the Canada Energy Regulator, the Alberta Utilities Commission, the Alberta Environmental Appeals Board, the Alberta Surface Rights Board, the British Columbia Oil and Gas Commission, and the British Columbia Utilities Commission.
Jamie counsels clients facing charges under environmental legislation and has provided advice to clients on matters relating to enforcement actions, environmental prosecutions and investigations associated with major operational incidents. Jamie also advises clients on matters of regulatory compliance, including in the context of infrastructure development applications, quality assurance and technical audits, tolling applications, contaminated sites, and waste management.
Clients benefit from Jamie’s practical litigation experience. Jamie has represented clients at trials, in chambers, and in various dispute resolution proceedings before courts in Alberta and British Columbia.
Jamie is a member of the Executive Committee of the Environmental Law Section (South) at the Canadian Bar Association’s Alberta Branch.
