Overview

Alicia represents physicians in professional negligence cases and disciplinary proceedings, offering skilled advocacy and strategic guidance. Alicia also handles professional discipline and litigation matters for the Calgary Police Service, navigating complex and sensitive cases. She has appeared before the Alberta Court of Justice, the Alberta Court of King's Bench, and the Alberta Court of Appeal, as well as administrative tribunals and private arbitrations.

Alicia's commitment to advocacy began in law school, where she earned top honors in the Atlantic McKelvey Cup Trial Advocacy Moot and placed third nationally in the Sopinka Cup Trial Advocacy Moot. She represented students in disciplinary matters as an Advocate and Director for the Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service and broadened her legal perspective by studying abroad at the University of Bergen in Norway.

Alicia has built her legal career at Bennett Jones, starting as a summer student before articling with the firm. During her articles, she gained invaluable experience through a secondment with a major integrated oil and gas company. There, she provided legal support across multiple business departments and honed her ability to deliver practical, business-oriented solutions.

Alicia actively gives back to her community. She volunteers with the Women’s Centre of Calgary’s Legal Advice Clinics, providing pro bono legal advice to women facing legal challenges. She also mentors future advocates through oral advocacy programs at the University of Calgary.
