Overview

Wade Ritchie is a tax lawyer whose practice encompasses corporate tax planning, estate and trust planning and business succession matters. He works closely with executives, entrepreneurs and family enterprises to develop strategies that integrate both personal and business objectives.

Wade helps individuals and families navigate, shape and preserve their legacy by delivering comprehensive guidance across all stages of life and transition, while partnering with clients to create tax-effective strategies that evolve with changing goals, family dynamics and business realities, including inter-generational wealth transfers and estate administration.

In his corporate tax practice, Wade assists clients with transaction structuring, reorganizations and tax considerations unique to resource-sector businesses. He also acts on farm succession planning and represents clients in tax disputes and negotiations with the Canada Revenue Agency, including voluntary disclosures, audit inquiries and income tax objections.

Wade is a frequent speaker and author on a range of legal and tax topics, including for the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Petroleum Tax Society and Thomson Reuters’ Taxnet Pro.
