He assists clients in the oil and gas, mining, forestry, electricity and power industries on a broad range of regulatory matters, including environmental assessments and approvals. Logan acts for both applicants and intervenors in relation to matters before federal and provincial administrative tribunals, including the Canada Energy Regulator, the Alberta Energy Regulator, the Alberta Utilities Commission and the Land and Property Rights Tribunal. Logan also acts for clients before all levels of the Alberta and Federal Courts, including appeals and judicial reviews. Logan frequently provides advice on the environmental and regulatory aspects of corporate transactions, including as it relates to electricity generation and connection projects (wind, solar, co-generation, self-supply), as well as projects in the oil and gas, energy infrastructure and mining industries. Logan previously worked at the Canadian Institute of Resources Law where he gained experience in the areas of oil and gas regulations, security requirements for mining reclamation and carbon sequestration and storage regulations. Prior to joining Bennett Jones, Logan practiced at another major Canadian firm. Outside of work, Logan is an active volunteer with the Calgary Stampede as a member of the 4-H Rodeo Committee.
