Clients appreciate Gita Keshava's ability to simplify a dispute to its essence and communicate the client's position in a clear and comprehensible manner.
In Gita's dispute resolution practice, she assists with Canadian commercial litigation, international commercial and investor-state arbitration and professional negligence defence for physicians and surgeons. She has appeared in both the Provincial Court and Alberta Court of Queen's Bench on litigation matters.
Gita appears as arbitration counsel under the world's leading international arbitration rule systems, including ICC, LCIA, and UNCITRAL. She represents multinational companies in international commercial arbitration with other multinational companies with respect to large capital projects and in investor–state disputes under NAFTA Chapter 11.
Gita is a member of the Canadian Bar Association Law Reform Committee and the selection committee for the United World College Alberta Scholarship.
Prior to joining Bennett Jones, Gita worked at the International Court of Justice, the World Food Programme, and the Supreme Court of Namibia. She articled in the firm's Calgary office before moving to Vancouver.
