Overview

Sam advises private and publicly listed clients on transactional and corporate matters, including mergers, acquisitions, private equity investments, as well as capital markets operations and securities compliance.

Before joining Bennett Jones as an associate, Sam gained experience at another leading corporate law firm.

During his studies at the University of Montréal, Sam spent a semester abroad at the University of Lisbon and completed a clerkship at the Superior Court of Québec. He also received the Roy-Bélanger and LSA Involvement scholarships for his outstanding community involvement and academic record.

Since 2024, Sam has been a member of the Emerging Leaders Committee of the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation, contributing to fundraising and community engagement in support of cardiovascular health research, innovation and access.

Recent Experience
•  O3 Mining Inc. in its $204 million-acquisition by Agnico Eagle Mines Limited by way of a negotiated take-over bid
•  Canada Infrastructure Bank in its C$1-billion innovative financing to support Montréal-Trudeau transformation as part of the 2028–2035 Flight Plan
•  A Québec-based entity regarding its business combination with a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) and related public listing on the Nasdaq Stock Market
•  An important Québec-based financial institution in its acquisition of related insurance and financial services entities for a total consideration of C$750-million.
•  Two major Québec-based public issuers in their respective C$300-million offerings of senior secured notes.
•  A TSX 60 company in a carveout transaction worth over C$1-billion to acquire a division of a UK public entity.
