Emily Hole has a general litigation practice with particular experience in health law, professional discipline, civil matters, and wills and estates.
Overview

She has experience representing physicians and chiropractors in matters involving professional regulatory, professional discipline and medical malpractice. She also assists physicians with issues relating to human rights, privacy, billing and privileging.

Emily has assisted on matters before all levels of court in Alberta and before the Alberta Human Rights Commission. She was co-counsel on a leading decision on health information before the Court of Appeal.

When clients face disputes in estate-related matters, Emily takes an informed and compassionate approach to issues involving personal representatives, personal directives and enduring powers of attorney.

Emily regularly speaks on topics related to health law, including at Grand Rounds, and volunteers at the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, providing summary legal advice to low-income individuals.

Experience
•  Successful Court of Appeal decision regarding a claim against the Respondents of wrongfully accessing health information and contravening the Health Information Act.
