Overview

Niki has a general corporate and securities law practice across a wide breadth of industries, including oil and gas, technology and natural resources. Her experience includes acting for: 

  • public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions, including share and asset purchases, plans of arrangement and corporate recapitalizations;
  • issuers and underwriters/agents in public and private equity and debt offerings, including cross-border financings, initial public offerings, secondary offerings and new issuances; and
  • public and private entities with respect to corporate and securities law compliance, including with respect to transaction-specific mandates and continuous disclosure requirements.

Before becoming an associate at Bennett Jones, Niki was an associate in the Calgary office of another national law firm.

Niki currently sits on the board of a non-profit organization and is a member of various associations and committees.

Recent Experience
•  Inaugural private placement offering of $400 million of unsecured notes by an independent integrated midstream company based in Western Canada 
•  DIRTT Environmental Solutions Ltd. in connection with its cross border substantial issuer bid for its outstanding convertible debentures
•  Hillcore Group in its acquisition of CEDA, a leading service provider specialized in providing industrial maintenance, turnaround and environmental services in Western Canada.
•  Hillcore Group in its acquisition of White Water Management, a leading fluid management business in Western Canada, and the business of its subsidiary, Catalyst Production Systems.
•  Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., in connection with its C$1.19-billion acquisition of an indirect minority equity interest in the Labrador-Island Link from Emera Inc. 
•  The Bodtker Group of Companies Ltd. in its sale of Reliance Products Ltd. to Greif, Inc., an NYSE-listed company.
•  Bow River Capital, a Denver-based alternative asset manager, in a majority recapitalization of Vitruvi ("Company"), a geospatial-based Construction Management software platform.
