He has been involved in proceedings before various federal and provincial administrative tribunals, including the Canada Energy Regulator, the Alberta Energy Regulator and the Alberta Utilities Commission, as well as all levels of the Alberta Courts. Prior to becoming an associate at Bennett Jones, Jayce articled with the firm and clerked at the Alberta Court of Appeal. During his articles, he was seconded to a large integrated oil and gas company. Jayce also summered with a multinational energy infrastructure company during law school and previously worked as a geoscientist-in-training at an oil sands mining operation.
