Pascale Dionne-Bourassa is fully invested in her clients. She is renowned as a superb litigator who brings an incomparable energy and passion to every client she acts for. She partners with them at all stages of a matter so they understand the legal strategy at hand with no surprises.
Overview

Pascale is Managing Partner of Bennett Jones' Montréal office. She has more than 25 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation as well as construction law. She also has vast experience in defending class actions involving product liability, consumer products, drugs and medical devices, automotive parts and claims involving alleged competition law violations. Pascale is one of the few lawyers in Québec with expertise in competition law. She offers practical advice and a pragmatic approach to clients and knows what works – and what to avoid – in complex litigation.

Pascale is a legal innovator. Prior to joining Bennett Jones, she was a founder of d3b Lawyers in Montréal, acting in large and complex litigation for private and public organizations. She brings this same entrepreneurial, client-focused ethos to her litigation practice at Bennett Jones.

She acts as plaintiff and defence counsel in connection with numerous mandates on behalf of major companies in various fields. She has acted as an advisor in the development of competition compliance programs and has represented her clients in inquiries into restrictive business practices and criminal offences. Pascale has been appointed on numerous occasions to preside over investigatory examinations conducted by Canada's Commissioner of Competition.

Pascale is highly engaged and active in the legal community and has several leadership roles with the Canadian Bar Association's Québec Branch. She is an administrator on the Board of Directors, as well as a member of the Executive Committees of both the Construction Law Section and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section. She is often invited to speak at legal and industry conferences and events namely on civil litigation and class actions.

•  An insurance software company in its defence of a national class action alleging that it engaged in anticompetitive conduct in the insurance industry
•  Bridgestone Americas Inc. in its defence against class actions alleging anti-competitive conduct in the sale of aftermarket tires.
 
•  A leading hotel chain in various class actions.
•  A Japanese electronics company in the context of a class action related to price fixing conspiracy allegations.
•  A financial institution in the context of a class action related to alleged violation of the Competition Act.
•  Corporations involved in the beef market in the context of a class action related to alleged violation of the Competition Act
•  Acts as Presiding Officer in competition law mandates entrusted by the Canadian Department of Justice.
•  A leading pharmaceutical company in numerous class actions instituted pursuant to alleged violations of the Competition Act.
•  A major drug manufacturer in a class action suit instituted in order to claim damages allegedly resulting from the use of a cold medication intended for children.
•  An American publishing house in a class action with regard to electronic books.
•  Various clients in connection with seizures and criminal inquiries conducted by the Competition Bureau.
