Michael Chow pursues a corporate and commercial law practice that encompasses commercial and real estate transactions, leasing, project finance, construction and land development. He represents a diverse group of clients, including developers, portfolio asset managers, landlords and tenants, pension funds, brokers, financial institutions and energy companies.

Michael advises clients on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions including purchase and sale agreements, limited partnership agreements, co-ownership agreements, joint venture agreements, land exchange agreements, property management agreements and lease agreements across a broad range of real property assets including office, industrial, retail and multi-family projects.

Michael previously practised in the Edmonton office of Bennett Jones and prior to that practised at another prominent law firm in Edmonton. Michael has been active in the community with the Edmonton Downtown Business Association, the Edmonton Golf Association and the Caritas Health Group. He has also been a member of the American Sports Lawyers Association.

ATCO Ltd., through Canadian Utilities Limited, in its acquisition from DP Energy of the Barlow (27 MW) and Deerfoot (37 MW) solar projects located in Calgary, which will be the largest solar installation in a major urban centre in Western Canada.
Ivanhoe Cambridge, AIMCo and Matco Group with the Eighth Avenue Place office tower project in downtown Calgary, Alberta, consisting of approximately 2 million square feet of office and retail space including acquisition, financing, development, leasing and management of the project.
Brookfield Properties with the Brookfield Place office tower project in downtown Calgary, Alberta, consisting of approximately 2.4 million square feet of office and retail space, including completing the lease transaction with the lead tenant of the project consisting of approximately 1 million square feet.
ATCO Group of Companies with the ATCO Park office complex project in suburban Calgary, being the new global headquarters for ATCO, including acquisition, financing, development, leasing and management of the project.
ATCO Group of Companies with all aspects of commercial real estate and land matters, including acquisition, disposition, development, leasing and management of its real property holdings and land interests within Alberta and Canada and internationally.
Ontario Pension Board with the Centre 10 office project in Calgary, Alberta, consisting of approximately 400,000 square feet of office and retail space, including leasing and management of the project.
Centron Group of Companies with the sale of the Centre 10 office project and the Place 10 office project in Calgary, Alberta, including disposition, joint venture, construction and leasing of the project.
Hines Group of Companies with various office tower projects, including Prospect Place office building in Calgary, Alberta.
ONE Properties with various office, industrial and mixed used development projects, including the Stonegate project in Calgary, Alberta.
Cushman & Wakefield Asset Services with the leasing and management of various office and retail properties in Alberta.
EPIC Investments Inc. with the development, leasing and management of various office, industrial and retail properties in Alberta.
TriWest Capital Partners / RTL-Westcan Limited Partnership with Canadian secured high-yield note issuance and bank operating and term facilities with Bank of Nova Scotia.
Riverstone Holdings LLC / Niska Gas Storage Canada ULC with an offering of US$800 million of unsecured notes and a US$400-million secured operating facility.
NUCRYST Pharmaceuticals Corp. with the possible sale of all or substantially all of the assets of NUCRYST and the consideration of an amalgamation of the NUCRYST with 1499642 Alberta Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Westaim Corporation.
RTL-Westcan Limited Partnership with a Canada-led offering of $130 million of senior secured second lien guaranteed notes and concurrent acquisition of substantially all of the assets of ECL Transportation Ltd.
Corpfinance International Limited with its $36.4-million project financing for the Stoney Nakoda First Nations casino in Alberta.
KingSett Real Estate Growth LP No. 1 with respect to its sale of 30 and 55 St. Clair Avenue West, two separate mid-town Toronto office properties with a gross rentable area of approximately 440,000 square feet.
Gibson Energy ULC with the successful completion of its previously announced offering of US$560 million of secured notes due 2014.
The Edge School for Athletes Society with a credit agreement between The Canada Life Assurance Company, as lender and Stonebridge Financial Corporation, as agent for the lender, and The Edge School for Athletes Society, as borrower.
