Noren Howg practices intellectual property law. She specializes in assisting energy, biotechnology, health, pharmaceutical and technology clients in intellectual property matters. Her work includes the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Noren also advises clients in IP related corporate commercial agreements. Noren is in the process of becoming a registered patent agent with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.
Noren has three years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry as a researcher and as a Notice of Compliance evaluator for Health Canada. She was the recipient of the NSERC (Natural Sciences and Research of Council of Canada), the Alberta Ingenuity Nanotechnology Scholarship and the Walter H. Johns Graduate Fellowship for her post-graduate work.
Prior to being called to the bar, Noren clerked for Justice Rowbotham of the Court of Appeal of Alberta.
Noren is currently a board member of the Association of Women Lawyers Calgary as well as the Chair of Equality Committee of the Canadian Bar Association and an editor of the Law Matters magazine.
Noren is also a member of IPIC, the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, and the Calgary Bar Association.
