David Glassberg was Saint John, NB-based Irving Oil’s Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary from 2001-16. He was responsible for Legal Affairs, Government Relations, Governance, Internal Audit, Security, Public Affairs, Insurance, Environment, Health & Safety, and Crisis and Risk Management. David provides strategic advice to firm clients on a variety of critical business issues, including governance, public affairs and risk management.
After serving as Assistant Legal Counsel to the Speaker of the New York State Assembly in the mid-Seventies, David joined Dewey Ballantine where he remained until becoming the New York City Managing Partner of the Michigan-based law firm of Miro, Miro & Weiner in 1985.
Prior to joining Irving Oil, David also spent time as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company and as a partner with the law firm of Wolf Block, each based in Philadelphia.He divides his time between Stratham, New Hampshire, and New York City.
