Profile
A fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and co-chair of the firm's class actions practice, Michael Eizenga is recognized as one of Canada's leading litigators. Michael advises and represents clients on all issues relating to complex litigation and class proceedings, including product liability, securities, price fixing and other commercial matters.

Michael has been named annually to the publication Best Lawyers in Canada since its inaugural 2006 edition. He is listed in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and in 2010 was ranked as Most Frequently Recommended in the area of Class Actions. He was also named in The 2010 Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada.

Mike is a frequent lecturer and author regarding class action litigation. He has presented domestically and internationally to organizations such as the International Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Continuing Legal Education Society, the Canadian Society of Transplantation, the Canadian Institute and the Advocates' Society. Among other published works, Mike is co-author of Class Actions Law and Practice and co-editor of Readings in the Philosophy of Constitutional Law.

Mike teaches Class Actions at the University of Western Ontario's Faculty of Law and has also taught in the Departments of Political Science and Philosophy. He has also taught at Osgoode Hall's Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop; the Law Society's Bar Admission Course; and at the Dallas Theological Seminary.

Mike is on the board of Pro Bono Law Ontario and a number of other community, professional and academic organizations. He is a past president of the Advocates Society (2007-08) and a former member of its Board of Directors (1999-2008).

Currently on the Board of the Federal Liberal Agency of Canada, Mike is a former president of the Liberal Party of Canada (2003-06).
