Faran Umar-Khitab has a diverse legal practice that includes both corporate commercial and banking matters. His corporate commercial experience includes public and private mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt offerings and shareholder and debtholder meetings. His banking practice is focused on secured lending, project finance, workouts and restructurings as well as private and public debt issuances.

Faran joined Bennett Jones after articling with the firm. While earning his Bachelor of Laws degree, he was recognized as Top Oralist at the Davies Corporate Securities Moot.

Faran volunteers as a mentor to undergraduate commerce students at the University of Toronto. He is fluent in Urdu and Hindi.
