Core Values
Professionalism:
We embrace and adhere to the fundamental requirements of dedicated professionalism, the pursuit of excellence and the legal profession's Code of Professional Conduct.
Principle-Centered:
We strive, in addressing the daily issues and challenges that face the firm, to do what is morally and ethically correct and acceptable. We emphasize honesty, fairness and integrity in our dealings with our clients, even where the consequences are adverse to the firm's short term goals or economic interests.
Firm First Behaviour/Teamwork:
We strive, as team members, to do all things in the best interests of the firm as a whole through fair dealing and compromise, putting the firm's interests ahead of the interests of ourselves, or of particular individuals or groups within the firm.
Continuing Legacy:
We believe that the firm is an institution unto itself, timeless and, as a whole, more important than any particular individuals or groups within the firm. It is our obligation to embrace and accept the obligations of this continuing trust, to further enhance the firm and to pass it on stronger than we found it to those who follow us.
Work Ethic:
We have a strong work ethic. On an individual basis, our work ethic must be balanced within our individual lives to ensure that we do not pursue goals and objectives which are beneficial from a short term perspective but damaging to us as individuals, and hence to the firm, over the long term.

Freedom of practice is a hallmark of the firm. Lawyers have the independence to pursue their careers and develop their practices in accordance with their own personal interests or desires within the overall objectives of the firm.

The firm is a meritocracy. Individual advancement and recognition among the people in the firm is based on merit.
Profits a Consequence:
We have a high expectation of meaningful financial rewards for the lawyers in the firm. However, profits are a consequence. We believe that by focusing on what really matters, such as good work, good clients, quality service, a collegial team environment and balance in our individual lives, profits will be a natural consequence.
